Human Resources Management is not just about treating human being as mere resources, it is more of a theoretical premise. HRM is about treating people right, empowering them to take leadership challenges and to make them sustainable in the organization and in their careers. Sustainability of the human resources is an important issue. If an organization expects something from an employee, the employees expect to be treated well, to be heard, to be promised of equity. Commitment begets commitment. If an organization or its top leaders cannot commit a transparent organization to its employees, the employees start losing their passion for the job. Sustainability also means stability, a kind of assurance that performance parameters exist for evaluating performance, but also that if one or objectives are not achieved, it would not lead to something very drastic, but the performance gaps would be addressed through mentoring and coaching.
